Sitara Samtani is a psychotherapist with a particular interest in trauma support.

She aims to collaboratively develop goals with her clients using EMDR and the principles of Schema Therapy (ST-CA) to support their emotional needs. Each session is tailored to the individual. Her goal is to offer a safe space and help the individual understand their needs better to develop into healthy and balanced humans.

Practicing Therapies

EMDR Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. It involves a structured approach and bilateral stimulation (usually in the form of guided eye movements, taps, or auditory tones). The brain reprocess traumatic memories, reducing their emotional impact and facilitating adaptive resolution. EMDR is particularly effective in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions.

Schema Therapy
Schema Therapy is a third-wave contextual therapy that stems from multiple therapeutic models, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The aim of this therapy is to focus on addressing the unmet needs and the origins of emotional and cognitive patterns that have developed. When working with children and adolescents, this may include working with the guardians of the child to help build the relationship within the family.

Sandplay Therapy
Sandplay therapy is a therapeutic approach used primarily with children but also effective for adults. This process allows individuals to express and explore their inner experiences and emotions symbolically. Through the creation of these scenes, clients can work through unresolved conflicts, traumas, and other psychological issues in a safe and supportive environment. Sandplay therapy is often used in conjunction with other therapeutic techniques and is grounded in principles of depth psychology and Jungian analysis.
