Trauma-informed care for children and youth
Trauma support for young children and young adults focuses on a tailored approach using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Sandplay, and EMDR. Together, these approaches create a holistic path to healing and resilience.

Counselling
A program adapted to meet the unique needs of each individual, providing one-on-one guidance and support. CBT to build practical coping skills, Schema Therapy to address deep-rooted emotional patterns, and Social Thinking to enhance social awareness and relationship-building in children.

Parent Coaching
Using Circle of Security Parenting and Schema Therapy, that equips parents with tools to strengthen attachment bonds and address emotional patterns that shape their parenting style, fostering secure and healthy family dynamics.

Sandplay and Symbolwork
A creative and nonverbal method where individuals use symbolic play to express emotions, process experiences, and explore their inner world in a safe, therapeutic environment.

EMDR
A trauma-focused tool that helps children process and reframe distressing memories through guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation techniques.

What are Emotional Needs?
Emotional needs are fundamental aspects of a child’s emotional well-being that must be met for healthy development and growth. These needs include the need for safety, secure attachment, autonomy, self-worth, play, and guidance, all of which shape how people process their emotions, build relationships, and navigate the world around them. In the book Emotional Needs, written by Dr. Julia Andre and Sitara Samtani, the co-authors explore how recognising and addressing these needs early can foster resilience, emotional regulation, and a more fulfilling life. By helping children understand their emotional needs, parents and caregivers can support their emotional development and overall well-being.

Beneath every behaviour there is a feeling. And beneath each feeling is a need. And when we meet that need, rather than focus on the behaviour, we begin to deal with the cause, not the symptom.
